Well, I had planned to do a post earlier in the week, but that pesky day job is getting in the way. 😉
I work in IT an I’m on-call this week and I’ve been on a conference call bridgeline for 3 days straight supporting another team’s change that was supposed to “be 100% transparent” and not affect anything. I’m actually on the call right now on Saturday morning for another fun day to assist with the process of backing their entire change out.
With technology, anything that can go wrong will at some point. So it is always best to prepare for the worst. Along those lines, be sure to backup your sites on a regular basis.
With free plugins like UpDraft Plus Backup/Restore you can do them manually or schedule automatic recurring backups. You can store them in your hosting account, but even better, the plugin can also send them to external sites like DropBox.
It would be best to have both the local copy and offsite copy in case your web host were ever to go down for an extended period of time. In that way, you’d have the ability to bring up your site at another web host if they had some sort of catastrophic failure.
But anyhow, that was my public service tip of the week.
Facebook Page is Live
About the only thing I managed to find time for this week was to create a Facebook page for this site, but I’m pretty excited about that.
The reason for creating that page was primarily to have a place to link to posts from other sites that I think you would enjoy, or to link to Podcasts or other little useful nuggets of information that don’t lend themselves to full blog posts.
I am also a fan of a few pages that post inspirational quotes or pictures and plan to share some of those on the page. The plan there is to keep you motivated and energized to stay on track with your online adventures!
I would really appreciate it if you would go over to the page and check things out and like the page. You can also hit the like button on the Facebook like box in the right hand column towards the bottom.
I’d also appreciate any feedback you might have and I encourage you to contribute to the page as well!
As of the moment I’m publishing this post, you have the unique opportunity to be the very FIRST person to like my FB page! Think of how cool that will be once the site achieves fame and fortune to be able to say, I was the very first person to like that Facebook page and now it has 10 gillion fans! 😆
Thanks so much and I hope you enjoy the FB page. See you there!

Was I the first like? I was hoping so! ;o) I also use UpDraft on all my sites – it’s easy to use and great to have several back-up copies. Love the FB page!
