  1. Hello, I was wondering if I should setup an email list service before or after I get subscriber’s? I have email hosting with my web hosting provider, I wasn’t sure if maybe I should start out with just using it or if I should go ahead and get an email list service? I currently have no subscription form set up. I wanted to get more insight on what I should do first before I mess it all up.

    Thank you!

P.S. I have listened to almost all of your podcast’s that are on the PodBean app! I really like what you put out there!

  2. Hey Darrin,

Thanks for the comment/question and for listening to all the Episodes, that’s awesome!

As we talked about via email so I could get some clarification, yes you would want to get your email service provider first. The email available through your hosting company just provides you the ability to send emails as like youremail @yoursite.com, it doesn’t provide list building, opt-ins or automated sending capabilities.

Companies like GetResponse provide all of that functionality. I also utilize Thrive Leads for opt-ins like the top of the site banner, after post opt-in box and exit intent pop-up when people are about to leave the site. That integrates fully with GetResponse.

If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.
