In Episode 16 of Niche Site Tools Podcast, I talk about Google’s recent removal of Google Authorship photos and number of followers from search engine results.

Here is their explanation of why they removed Authorship information:

Check out the Podcast for my breakdown and the prevailing opinion as to why they really made the change.

If you had Google Authorship setup on your site(s), have you noticed a decrease in traffic that started around June 25th? If you haven’t checked your Google Analytics stats since then, take a look and let us know your results in the comments below.

Chris, this is bad news considering the amount of time we all invested in setting it up. Have you had any success with the Adwords campaign yet?

Yep, kinda surprising they reversed course on that so quickly. It certainly doesn’t hurt to continue to set up Authorship, as it does still show your name and it may still help with rankings, but the visual benefit of having your picture shown is no more.

The AdWords campaign is going well as far as impressions and clicks go, I just upped my daily budget from $4 to $5 a day this morning, since I was hitting my max per day spend. However, no sales so far.

So far just under $25 has been spent and the $100 promo code is about to kick in.
